Burlington Transit COVID-19 Service Update: Dec. 22, 2020 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
When the province moves into lockdown on Dec. 26, Burlington Transit will continue to run its current schedule. Please use transit for essential travel only. If you are not well, stay home and stop the spread of COVID-19. To help with the safety of customers and staff, non-medical masks or face coverings are mandatory. Please check for schedule changes during the holiday season.
For the full schedule, please visit our Schedules page. The Downtown Terminal at 430 John St., and Specialized Dispatch (Handi-Van) will be closed on Dec. 25, 2020 and Jan. 1, 2021. The Downtown Terminal will be open from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 28. Schedules, specialized bookings and information is available at burlingtontransit.ca. For real-time schedule information visit myride.burlingtontransit.ca. Seniors keep riding for free weekdays, Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The pilot has been extended until March 31, 2021. |

Fare Collection – Sept. 1, 2020Starting Sept. 1, Burlington Transit will be collecting fares on all Burlington Transit buses. Pay your fares using a PRESTO card. Visit the Fares page for more information. If you are a SPLIT customer, you can pick up your SPLIT pass starting Aug. 19, at the Downtown Terminal, 430 John St. One customer will be allowed in the building at a time. You may want to add extra time for COVID-19 measures. Downtown Terminal Re-Opens Aug. 19, 2020Burlington Transit's Downtown Terminal, 430 John St., is reopening on Aug. 19, 2020 with limited services. Mandatory masks and face coverings help making riding transit as safe as possible from the spread of COVID-19. For more information on non-medical masks and face coverings, visit the Government of Canada Non-medical masks and face coverings page. Boarding Buses and Fares Board Burlington Transit buses from the rear doors. Fares are not being collected. Oakville Transit and HSR are starting to collect fares in July. Burlington Transit customers will need to pay a fare on Oakville Transit and HSR when transferring. Burlington Transit is not providing transfers and SPLIT passes are not currently available for pickup. Bus Capacity and Physical Distancing Bus capacity on all buses have been reduced to help with physical distancing. When a bus is full, an additional bus will be added to the route. The full bus will say 'Full Bus' on the destination sign and not stop at bus stops. |

Public health officials recommend using a face covering when physical distancing is not possible. Wear a face covering or non-medical mask when on transit to help protect yourself and others. Updated: March 25, 2020 (Previous updates below) Effective Sunday, March 29, 2020, Burlington Transit will reduce service and operate on a modified schedule Monday to Saturday from 5:50 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and Sunday from 6:14 a.m. to 9:55 p.m. Schedule information

Updated: March 18, 2020 Beginning March 19, 2020 and until further notice, Burlington Transit customers are being asked to board and exit from the rear doors of every bus. Customers using personal mobility devices can board and exit using the front doors. To provide social distancing, customers should use alternate rows and choose seats away from other customers.
