November 3, 2019 Schedule Changes |
In September, Burlington Transit implemented many improvements to its service routes, including:
- An increase of 20-minute service on many routes
- Extended bus service in Aldershot to Aldershot High School
- Increased service in the area of Lakeshore Road and Burloak Drive.
Thank you to the riders who have shared their feedback on the changes. In response to their input, effective Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, Burlington Transit will be making some additional changes as we continue to work towards a “Better Transit” for Burlington.

Thank you to everyone who shared their input about the changes at a series of open house events in April this year. With the feedback gathered at these sessions, several revisions were made to the draft routes and schedules, including:
- Extending the Route 4 bus further into Aldershot
- The addition of weekend service to the 407 carpool parking lot on Routes 2 and 3
- Introduction of improved service and more buses on holidays.
In addition to moving towards a grid network, the Sept. 1, 2019 changes will also:
- Move bus service to the south side of the Burlington GO Station – Buses will operate along, and enter the GO Station, from Fairview Street
- Reduce route duplication – Remove routes that cover the same road segments as other routes and routes that operate in only one direction
- Improve frequency of routes – Increase frequency on routes that travel along major roads
We’re Moving to the south side of Burlington GO Station
Burlington Transit is moving to the south side of the Burlington GO Station.
Starting Sept. 1, 2019, Routes 2, 6, 10, 12, 50, 51, 52, 80, 81, 87 and 101 will enter and exit the Burlington GO Station from Fairview Street.
Route 1 will travel along Fairview Street and stop on Fairview Street, in front of the Burlington GO Station.

Thank you to our Burlington Transit customers who contacted us with questions about route and schedule changes that were made in September and November 2018.
As a result of your feedback, Burlington Transit will introduce improvements to Routes 1, 2, 5, 11, 21, 81, 87 and 101 on Jan. 6, 2019.

Nov. 4, 2018 Schedule Changes |
Starting Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, Burlington Transit is changing schedules for routes 3, 5, 6, 11, 12, 21, 25, 80, 81, 83 to improve bus arrival times and connections.
Changes include:
- To ensure routes remain on schedule
- Routes 5 and 80 will operate as separate buses and riders must transfer between Routes 5 and 80 at the Burlington GO station at 2101 Fairview St.
- Routes 6 and 11 will operate as separate buses and riders must transfer between Routes 6 and 11 at the GO 407 Carpool lot on Dundas Street, west of Walkers Line
- More frequent buses along Brant Street. Riders can take Routes 3 or 5 between downtown and the Burlington GO station
- Route 12 will operate on a 30-minute schedule all day
- Schedules for Routes 11, 21, 25, 81 and 83 will shift by 5 minutes to improve connections at GO stations.

Routes 5 and 80
Starting Nov. 4, 2018, customers will need to transfer at the Burlington GO station between Routes 5 and 80.
Routes 6 and 11
Starting Nov. 4, 2018, customers will need to transfer at the 407 GO Carpool lot between Routes 6 and 11.

Sept. 2, 2018 Route 1/1X and Route 101 Changes |
Burlington Transit is working to build a better transit system. To help improve the reliability of Route 1/1x and Route 101, the following changes are being made, effective Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018.
Route schedules are not affected by these changes.
Route 101 Express
Starting on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, Route 101 will become an express route between Hamilton and Burlington and will make fewer stops.
In Hamilton, Route 101 will stop at
- York Boulevard at Queen Street N.
- York Boulevard at Bay Street N.
- Catherine Street N. at King William Street
- King Street at James Street

From Hamilton, Route 101 to Burlington GO will travel directly to Plains Road West at Waterdown Road and will then make all regular stops to the Burlington GO station.
Route 101 to Hamilton will stop at Plains Road West at Waterdown Road and travel directly to its next stop at York Boulevard at Queen Street South.
Route 1/1x - Fewer Stops
As of Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, Route 1/1X will make limited stops on York Boulevard and Plains Road West, west of Gorton Avenue.
To ride the Route 1/1X, please proceed to one of the following stops:
- Plains Road West at Gorton Avenue
- Plains Road West at Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) Main Building
- Plains Road West at Botanical Drive
- York Boulevard at Plains Road
- York Boulevard at RBG Rock Garden
- York Boulevard at Old Guelph Road
- York Boulevard at Dundurn Castle
